It is a time of celebration and jovial spectacles, rumor has it that this festive time had deeply spiritual and mystical roots. But such severity has significantly waned throughout the centuries. Today it is commonly associated with various Besarian customs, games, and traditions; the most popular among these are truth and dare games, coming of age rituals, the passing of traditional oral stories, and the passionate participation of traditional Besarian dances. Officially, it is celebrated for five days, but it is common for decorations to be erected well before, and linger well after, the event. Given the nature of the galaxy and the emergence of other intelligent life forms, the Besarians have welcomed other species in their celebrations, so long as they respect their rules and customs.
