The Story

By the 22nd century, humanity had slowly progressed toward an ideal society, technology, and medicines reached unprecedented levels while war, famine, and disease all declined, and a new hope for humanity’s future blossomed. But this hope was short-lived. At the turn of the century, various aerospace organizations noticed something strange at the far reaches of the Solar System, it appeared to be an undiscovered planet that followed an elongated elliptical orbit. At first, it presented itself as a great opportunity for study and research but something was off. Slowly it approached Earth and as it inched its way closer, worry crept into the corner of humanity’s collective consciousness, and this worry would prove to be warranted. As this new celestial body entered the Earth’s orbit untold devastation was unleashed and was only compounded by the arrival of the dreaded Adra.

However, this was not the first time Earth was visited by the Adra. In ancient texts it describes what were previously thought to be “visitors” descending from the heavens to bestow humanity great knowledge, it is only now that the truth is revealed. One that demands the extinction of man. In a matter of moments, the Adra ravaged the world, wiping out the vast majority of humanity and its defenses. In the early years of the invasion only a small faction remained to battle the Adra and combat their onslaught. Led by the legendary Steve Jacobs, one of the only known men to have ever killed an Adra in single combat during the initial battles, humanity is fighting a disheartening battle.

However, there is hope. As the battle grew in scope it garnered the attention of unknown civilizations from the furthest reaches of the cosmos. Two such groups are the Besarians and the Gropal, who vow to aid the Humans and rid the universe of the Adra scourge. With the assistance from their new allies, humanity has developed new weapons, aerospace craft, combat tactics, and advanced cosmic mining technologies, all of which have proven to be quite effective. Aside from humanity’s allies and the Adra themselves, there is another species, the Watchers. These strange and enigmatic beings have remained neutral throughout the conflict and simply observe, but for what reason no one knows for certain. With the aid from new- found allies, humanity has found a sense of renewed vigor and the tides of war have begun to shift much to the surprise of the Adra. As humanity proved to be a far deadlier adversary than expected, the Adra called for reinforcements. They summoned forth the Xumers, a violent lizard-like people who thirst for battle, and the Totek, agile humanoids capable of flight. As the war rages on and new forces join the fray, the stakes continue to rise, for this is no longer a battle for humanity but one for the survival of the universe itself.
